Body Fat Percentage Estimator

Estimate body fat percentage using the U.S. Navy circumference method.

Why this estimate differs from a body scan

Circumference-based methods like the U.S. Navy formula estimate body fat from measurements — neck and waist, plus hips for women — rather than directly measuring fat tissue. A DEXA scan or hydrostatic weighing will typically be more precise than any tape-based estimate.

What can throw off the result

Measurement technique matters more here than most people expect — a tape pulled too tight, or measured at the wrong landmark (waist at the belly button vs. the narrowest point), can shift the result by several percentage points, more than the formula's own margin of error.
