Test Score Percentage Finder

Turn a raw score into a percentage and a standard letter grade.

Raw score vs. the percentage that gets reported

A percentage score is simply correct answers divided by total possible points. Many standardized tests instead report a scaled score or percentile, which reflects performance relative to other test-takers, not just raw percentage correct.

Why the same percentage can mean different things

An 80% on a test with heavy negative marking for wrong answers reflects different performance than an 80% on a test with no penalty for guessing. The raw percentage alone doesn't capture how the test was actually scored.
